WordPress Website Migration,Moved Over Without Losing a Thing.

Moving hosts, or taking a staging site live, is where good sites break. I handle the whole move, files, database, email, and DNS, tested before the switch, so visitors never hit a broken page. Move onto your own account and you pay that host directly at their price, or move onto my managed hosting at a published monthly rate. The migration fee is the same either way, and your domain stays in your name.

From $600

Fixed scope at a fixed price, quoted in writing before any work begins. What you approve up front is what you pay.

2-4 days

This is the schedule you can expect, agreed with you before anything starts. Nothing about the timing gets discovered halfway through.

One Developer

The person who scopes this work is the person who builds it. Nothing is handed to a junior or sent offshore.

Your account or mine

Where the site lands is your call, your own hosting account or mine.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

A Move Done Without the Drama.

  • Hosting AssessmentAn honest look at whether your current host is actually the problem.
  • Provider GuidanceA recommendation that fits your site and budget. For your own account I recommend SiteGround and use my referral link, and I say so first.
  • Full MigrationFiles, database, and email moved carefully and tested before the switch.
  • Zero-Downtime CutoverDNS handled so visitors never hit a broken or missing site.
  • Post-Move ChecksEverything verified after the switch: forms, links, speed, and email.
  • Your Choice of DestinationYour own account, billed by the provider, or my managed hosting at a published rate.
THE HONEST PART

The Truth About Hosting Markup.

A lot of the industry quietly resells hosting at a markup and locks you in. Here is how I handle it differently, and honestly. That includes being straight about the one case where hosting is my own product.

I do not mark up someone else's hosting

If the account is in your name, you pay that provider directly at their price and I add nothing to it. My fee is the migration work, not a slice of your monthly bill. Setting up your own SiteGround account does go through my referral link and they pay me a fee for it, which does not change your price. My own managed hosting is not a referral arrangement: that runs on hosting I hold.

You are never locked in

On your own hosting the account is in your name. On my managed hosting I migrate you out and you keep everything, with no exit fee. Either way the site is yours and there is no hostage situation.

Sometimes you should stay put

If your current host is fine, I will say so and save you the move. A migration you do not need is not a service, it is a sale.

HOW IT WORKS

Assess, Move, Verify.

01
Assess Honestly

I check whether hosting is really your bottleneck before recommending a move.

02
Recommend Plainly

If a move helps, I suggest a provider that fits. Setting up your own SiteGround account goes through my referral link, so you hear that from me before you sign up, not afterwards.

03
Migrate Carefully

Files, database, and email moved and fully tested on the new host before cutover.

04
Cut Over Cleanly

DNS switched with zero downtime, then everything verified on the live site.

FAQ

Questions I Hear a Lot.

Do you make money on my hosting?

On your own hosting, yes, in one way. You pay that provider directly at their rate and I never mark it up, but setting up a SiteGround account goes through my referral link and they pay me a fee for the signup. It does not change your price, the account is still yours, and ask if you would rather have a plain link. My only other fee is the one-time migration work. If you move onto my managed hosting instead, at $24.99 or $49.99 a month, there is no referral and no commission involved at all: that monthly fee is hosting your site and managing it. Migrating you onto it costs the same as migrating you anywhere else.

Will my site go down during the move?

Done properly, no. I stage and test everything on the new host first, then switch DNS so visitors never hit a broken site. Zero downtime is the standard, not a bonus.

Do I have to switch hosts?

No. If your current host is genuinely fine, I will tell you so and skip the move. I only recommend a migration when it actually solves a real problem.

Is $600 what it will actually cost?

That is the starting price for a straightforward WordPress move, host to host or staging to live. It is a floor rather than a flat fee: a large site, a messy setup, custom server configuration, or a lot of email and DNS to untangle all push it up, and I will tell you where yours lands before you commit. Coming off a closed platform like Shopify or Wix is a different job again, because the site has to be rebuilt rather than moved, and that is scoped as a Website Conversion. Current starting prices are on the services page, on each service card.

What if I want to leave you later?

You can, cleanly, and the answer splits depending on who holds the hosting account. If the account is yours, there is nothing to hand back: every file and login is already in your name and your domain is yours throughout. If you are on my managed hosting, the account is mine, so here is how leaving works. Billing stops at the end of the month you have already paid for, the site stays up for another 30 days, and a complete export of your files and database is handed over free, in every case. If you want me to move the site onto your new host and set it up there, that is a flat $199. So there is no exit fee. There is a price for the migration, and only if you want it. After the 30 days I take the site down and remove it and its backups from my account.
